I think it might be a scam because I saw it on two infomercials, one involving some tool named Donald Barrett who has done "shows" (an infomercial disguised as a show) with Kevin Trudeau, and I’m sure everyone knows how much of a straight shooter Kevin is. The colon cleansing infomercial was with someone named Klee or Clee something (and Donald), but.. it all kind of sounded like BS. I don’t think feces would build up on the walls of your colon, but then again I was sort of worried since he said it was basically mucous in the colon. Worried me because I accidently swallow a lot of mucous a lot because I’m congested in the mornings quite a bit. So is colon cleansing real or is it a hoax to make money off of the ignorant?

High colonics (or enemas) are useful if you are bound up and need to loosen that which is ‘stuck’. Any mucous going through your stomach is going to be broken down by the hydrochloric acid in your stomach. People with insufficient fiber in their system do not have the same efficient peristaltic waves to push waste through, and so you can have little bits stuck along the sides, and an enema CAN knock you down several pounds (ugly, but true…). Still, that or laxatives are not something you should use unless your doctor directs you to.
It is a complete scam. The goo coming out is the goo they are putting in.
Wanna clean colon? drink lots of water each day and eat a yogurt, Yogurt has the exact organisms needed to promote a healthy colon.
That stuff on TV is a scam.

[Oh, and to answer your question...yes they are somewhat of a scam in my opinion cheap herbal remedies work better.]
In my experience colon cleansing works. I used to suffer from mucus everyday. I had to clear my throat often during the day, was prone to coughing, caught colds easily and suffered from allergies. Once I learned to cleanse and stop eating foods that cause mucus all of those symptoms disappeared (over the course of 6 months). Now I never experience them.

Okay, there is a lot of misleading information and a lot of one sided information. Many people go straight for calling colon cleansing a scam and that many be true in a certain sense, but it only pertains to many products that are made specifically to take money from scared consumers.
On the other hand, colon cleansing is not a scam because the whole idea of trying to improve your colon health through fasting, eating right, and exercising is real and can be very beneficial.
There is a plethora of information on the internet about colon cleansing, but much of it is the same trash found everywhere that just promoted products. You really have to dig deeper.
Try to find information about probiotics, fasting, nutrition, vitamins, parasite cleansing, enzymes, and so forth.
Please make sure to look at both sides. Remember that colon cancer is something being researched every day and links are being found about diet, healthy habits, and cancer.
